Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams is the daughter of
Sandra Kay (Gale), an Ontario nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams a truck driver
as well as furniture movers. She was born in London, Ontario on November 17,
1978. Rachel is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel became involved with
acting as a teenager and, by 13 she was starring in Shakespearean productions
in summer theater camp. She later completed her studies with honors , earning
an honors BFA degree in Theater from York University. After appearing in Disney's
The Famous Jett Jackson episode (1998) and later, she appeared in Slings and
Arrows, a Canadian comedy-drama that chronicles the struggles and triumphs of a
Shakespearean theater group. In 2003, she won an award called a Gemini award.
Her role as Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004), instantly was a hit on
Hollywood's most sought-after young actresses. After the film, she was paired
with Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004). It was a hit at the box office, and
soon became the most popular romantic drama for the new generation of
moviegoers. McAdams and Gosling began to fall in love while filming, and
continued to stay in touch throughout 2007's middle. McAdams next showcased her
versatility on screen in the hilarious comedy Wedding Crashers (2005), the thriller
Red Eye (2005), as well as the holiday drama The Family Stone (2005).McAdams
then began exploring the world of independent cinema through Married Life
(2007), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and also featured Pierce
Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. She also starred in the war drama
The Lucky Ones (2007) as well as the newspaper thriller State of Play (2009) as
well as the romantic drama The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) was the next film to

to romantic drama territory with The Vow (2012), which she co-starred with
Channing Tatum. McAdams is also a part of Terrence Malick in To the Wonder
(2012) and Noomi Rapace plays Passion (2012) in Brian De Palma's thriller.
