Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish model and actress. Doody made her acting debut in the Bond film, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. She starred in 1989 as Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan was in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Approached by a photographer Doody decided to take up modeling, which turned into an industry-related career in modelling. Doody strictly avoided fashion, thongs and glamour when she was modeling. After catching the eye of the director of casting in the upcoming James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody is listed within John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3 as being one of the 12 most promising actors from 1986. 38. Doody was only aged 18 when she made her appearance in the Bond role. Today she's the newest Bond girl. Another early movie was a small part as IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) that featured Mickey Rourke. Doody was a silent actress in a 1987 film adaptation of The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. The Storyteller episode from 1988 included her in the leading part of Sapsorrow, alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking possibly her most famous role ever as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which she starred alongside Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody has co-starred alongside Jonathan Pryce, in the British miniseries Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Then she moved to Hollywood. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd as the L'Oreal spokesperson's part. She then played Flannery Sheen's lover and agent opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II became available in 1994. Doody returned to acting in 2003 with a minor performance in the British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards show. She starred along alongside Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Doody appeared on Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. Doody was a guest on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Her first two seasons of the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. She starred in We Still Kill the Old Way which was a film from 2014. In November of 2018 she was awarded the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and received a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
