Bruce Willis

Actor and musician Bruce Willis is well known for his sharp-witted or wisecracking characters, most often in spectacular action films. Together, they've been featured in movies that have grossed more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German actor, was born in Idar–Oberstein, West Germany on March 19 1955, to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey), who lived at a military base in the United States. His family moved to U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was born in Penns Grove by his mother who worked for a bank, and his father, a welding, was a factory worker and welder. Willis began to show an interest in the drama arts during his high school. He was "discovered" when he worked in the cafe in a New York City cafe. Later, he appeared in several off-Broadway productions. He was bartending one night when a casting manager noticed his charm and approached for his services as an bartender in a short film. Willis was a part of countless auditions before being cast in the romantic comedy of the same name, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. His sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. is seen by some as an opportunity to practice for the role of hard-boiled NYC detective "John McClane" in the horror film Die Hard (1988), in which Willis' character single-handedly battled the ruthless international thieves in the Los Angeles skyscraper. In the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990), Willis reprised his role in the role of McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to bring back the corrupt South American general. A record-breaking box office performance prompted an additional sequel Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) with a new co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as an obnoxious Harlem shop owner who accidentally gets into supporting McClane during a terrorist attack campaign on a scorching day in New York.
