 Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation (born October 1st, 1969): American comedian, musician, comedian and writer. He was a performer, comedian, and presenter of Late World with Zach (VH1) Galifianakis has been a star in a number of films that include The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) and Masterminds (2016). He also voiced characters in animated films such as Puss in Boots (2011), The Lego Batman Movie (2017), Missing Link (2019), and Ron's Gone Gone Wrong (2021). Galifianakis currently hosts the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis has appeared on the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on October 1, 1969. He is the son of community arts center owner Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil merchant Harry Galifianakis. His mother is English-Irish and Scottish and his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. The baptism was performed according to the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He has Merritt and his younger sister as well as Greg and Greg, his elder brother. The cousin of his is Washington Post cartoonist Nick Galifianakis as well as his uncle, who is also known as Nick Galifianakis, is a politician. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School, then went on to North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in communications. Galifianakis was employed at a public radio station while in college. In 1991, he taught an waltz class and got to know Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was on Saturday Night Live two weeks after his TV debut with Boston Common. Galifianakis stated that he worked on Saturday Night Live for two weeks.
