Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30 1977. American electro house music producer, D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his nickname. and music executive. He's the third child of Chizuru Kobayashi and Rocky Aoki. His father was a wrestler, and was also instrumental in helping to start the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two siblings, sister Kana (who is sometimes called Grace, her middle name) Grace) & brother Kevin (owner of the Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There, he was a player on the varsity badminton team. Then, he attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating w/ 2 B.A. He was awarded two degrees, one in sociology, and another in feminist studies. He was a college student who produced records by himself and staged underground performances in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. It was a concert venue and the place was named The Pickle Patch. He also participated in student activities at UCSB. He was the founder of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. He had started an independent record label when he was in the 20s. It was named Dim Mak, after his childhood idol Bruce Lee. The label released I'm IN THE HOUSE, which was a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq, the alter-ego of will.i.am. It hit No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart in its first week of release. The song was ranked in the top 5 in both the U.K. Indie Chart and the U.K. Dance Chart. The song was also featured on an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore as well as in the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May 2010 interview with HitQuarters Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he and Rivers Cuomo had just worked on the single. He was named the highest-grossing North American dance artist by Pollstar in 2012. His collaborations include artists like Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He is well-known for his remixes of artists like Kid Cudi.
